Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was re-elected chairman of Fidesz, of the governing Fidesz-KDNP alliance, at a party congress in Budapest on Sunday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Gábor Kubatov, Szilárd Németh and Lajos Kósa were re-elected deputy leaders of the party. Kinga Gál, a Fidesz MEP, was also elected a deputy, to replace Families Minister Katalin Novák.

Fidesz last held a congress to elect party officials in September 2019, ahead of local council elections.
