Albania Jan-Apr trade gap widens

Albania's trade deficit increased by 24% year-on-year in the first four months of 2021, reaching ALL 116 billion (USD 40.5 million), the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports rose 34.9% on the year to ALL 109 billion in the period under review, while imports increased 29% to 225 billion.
In April alone, trade deficit totaled ALL 34 billion, up 59.4% year-on-year. Albania exported mainly textile and footwear, minerals, fuels, electricity, construction materials, and metals.
