Amsterdam-based developer Photon Energy NV said on Tuesday it has put on stream two PV solar plants of 4.73 MWp each, both located in the west-central Alba County, in Romania's Transylvania region.

The output will be fed into the grid managed by Distribueie Energie Electrica Romania and will be sold on a merchant basis.

Situated near the cities of Aiud and Teius, the photovoltaic parks are expected to produce around 6.8 GWh and 7.1 GWh of electricity per year, respectively.

The generation, according to its estimates, will bring a combined revenue of around EUR 2 million (USD 2.2 million) in the next 12 months.
