Gov't Awards Over HUF 20 bln of Home Solar Panel Subsidies

The government has awarded HUF 20.7 billion of subsidies to over 5,100 applicants for the installation of home solar panels and battery storage, so far, the Energy Affairs Ministry said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Nearly 17,000 applications have been submitted for the HUF 75 bln funding program launched by the government in January.
Under the scheme, households may apply for up to HUF 5 million in support, covering two-thirds of investment cost.
As applications have been for an average HUF 4 mln, the scheme could support as many as 19,000 solar panel investments, the ministry said.
