The construction of Poland's largest solar park is progressing with the first 204-MWp (megawatt-peak) phase of the Zwartowo project already feeding clean electricity to the grid.

The first section of the project with a planned total capacity of 290 MWp was connected to the grid in September, Hirschberg, Germany-based EPC contractor Goldbeck Solar said in a statement on Thursday.

Construction work on the second phase of 86 MWp is set to begin at the start of next year. Located about 65 km (40.4 mile) northwest of the city of Gdańsk, Zwartowo is expected to require total costs of about EUR 200 million.
