Bourse Acknowledges 'Best of BSE'

The Budapest Stock Exchange recognized last year's outstanding capital market players at its "Best of BSE" awards last week, according to a release on the bourse's website.

CEO Richárd Végh noted that the bourse's main BUX index had climbed 38% last year, or 49% in dollar terms, making it the second-best performer in the world after the Nasdaq.

MBH Bank, Hungary's second-biggest commercial lender, was acknowledged as investment service provider and mortgage bond issuer of the year.

Wood & Company got a nod for generating the highest trading turnover, beating Erste Investment and Concorde Securities. Opus Global was recognized for the most significant share price increase.

As the BBJ reported earlier, BSE booked a net profit of HUF 5.8 billion in 2023 according to an earnings report published in February.
