The average pension in Moldova will increase by MDL 262 (EUR 13.66) starting from April 1, state news agency Moldpres reported Tuesday.

The amount of the increase consists of the value of indexation of pensions by 6% and the adjustment of the value of pensions to economic growth (GDP growth), the government's communication department has reported. As a result of the indexation, the minimum pension will be MDL 2,778 (EUR 144.90), and the average size of the pension for the age limit will increase by MDL 249 and will increase after indexation from MDL 2,067 to 3,926.

Pension indexation will be carried out for about 679,963 beneficiaries, including 528,666 old-age pension beneficiaries and 98,823 disability pension beneficiaries.

The ratio between the minimum pension and the subsistence minimum calculated by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS) for pensioners increased from 66%, in April 2021, to 115% in the first semester of 2023.
