President Novák Meets With IAAF Head

Hungary is ready for the 2023 World Athletics Championships starting on Saturday, President Katalin Novak said on Facebook on Tuesday after receiving Sebastian Coe, President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Novák received the head of the IAAF at the Sándor Palace, noting that the country was glad to be hosting one of the world's biggest sporting events. 

The President of Hungary said that the country was looking forward to welcoming the participating athletes as well as the fans and visitors arriving from all over the world. 

The opening ceremony of the event will take place on Saturday, and President Novák will give an address and officially open the event.

Budapest is hosting the event on August 19-27.
