Pensioners to Get Inflation-Linked Top-up by Nov 15

Figures

Pensioners will be paid a top-up linked to inflation between November 10 and 15, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video message posted on Facebook on Saturday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Orbán noted that the top-up will be the second pensioners get this year amid higher-than-expected inflation.

Pensioners in Hungary normally get a top-up in November, if inflation exceeds the forecast, but they got a 3.9% increase from July 1 as the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) raised its inflation forecast.

In its latest quarterly Inflation Report, released in September, the central bank put this year's average annual inflation between between 13.5% and 14.5%.
