Students Expect to Earn Double Abroad

The number of Hungarian students studying abroad has increased from 1.7% to 8% since joining the EU in 2004, according to hvg.hu.
A focus group study on the financial, savings and investment preferences of Hungarian students studying abroad was conducted by Blochamps Capital Pénzügyi Tanácsadó Kft.
The research revealed that the vast majority of respondents expect to earn twice as much net salary abroad as at home, with the expectation of earning at least HUF 1.1 million per month abroad, while at home they would expect HUF 510,000.
According to the respondents, young people generally prefer short-term investments, but 41% of them are saving for an apartment, which they plan to buy in Hungary, not in their current place of residence.
