MNB International Reserves Edge Lower in March

International reserves of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) stood at EUR 46.373 bln at the end of March, down just EUR 29 mln from a month earlier, data released by the central bank on Monday show.

Stock of cash, deposits, and securities in the reserves rose by EUR 977 mln to EUR 31.685 bln, while stock of "other reserve instruments" fell EUR 1.529 bln to EUR 5.866 bln.

The value of monetary gold in the reserves rose by EUR 500 mln to EUR 6.197 bln and stock of IMF SDRs reached EUR 2.254 bln at the end of March.

he reserves were EUR 4.968 bln higher than at the end of 2023, boosted by FX bond issues in January.
