Serbia H1 budget deficit down on year

Serbia's budget recorded a deficit of RSD 75.5 billion (EUR 642 million) in the first half of 2021, compared to a deficit of RSD 304.8 billion in the same period of 2020, data published by the finance ministry show, according to a report by SeeNews.

The primary budget deficit showed RSD 6.8 billion in H1, versus RSD 242.5 billion in January-June 2020. Total budget revenues rose by a real 20.2% to RSD 696.1 billion, while expenditure went down 12.7% to RSD 771.6 billion.

Tax revenues grew by a real 21.2% to RSD 616.8 billion, non-tax revenues went up 9.5% to RSD 59.5 billion, and grants increased by RSD 3 billion to RSD 7.8 billion. On the expenditure side, current expenditure fell by a real 17.5% to RSD 658.4 billion, while capital expenditure amounted RSD 100.1 billion from RSD 66.1 billion a year earlier.
