Gov't to Make HUF 130 bln of 0% SME Credit Available From Q2

The government will make HUF 130 billion in 0% credit available to SMEs to boost competitiveness from the second quarter, the National Economy Ministry said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The credit will be available as part of HUF 450 bln earmarked in the framework of phase one of the Ginop Plusz European Union-funded program for economic development, the ministry said.

The loans, between HUF 10 mln and HUF 100 mln, will be available to microbusinesses and SMEs across the country, with the exception of the capital, to invest in equipment and energy efficiency upgrades as well as training or consulting services.

Details will be announced in March and applications could be accepted from April.
