Share of Renewables in Transports Reaches 7.8% in Hungary
The share of renewable energy sources in transport reached 7.8% in Hungary in 2022, data from Eurostat show.
The ratio increased 1.6 percentage points from 2021, the third-biggest rise in the European Union after increases in Germany (1.9 pp) and the Netherlands (1.8 pp).
In a regional comparison, the share of renewable energy sources in transport stood at 7.2% in Czechia, 5.8% in Poland, and 8.9% in Slovakia.
The ratio stood at 9.6% for the EU as a whole. An EU directive requires the ratio to reach 29% by 2030.
Renewable energy sources consumed in transport include liquid biofuels, biomethane, and the part of renewable electricity consumed in road and rail transport.
