Drought Declared Across the Country

The Minister of Agriculture announced that there is currently a drought across the whole of Hungary, the Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement yesterday, according to profitline.hu.
In a departure from the previous practice, the pervasive drought situation announced at the end of the summer lays the foundation for applying for damage mitigation allowance.
It makes it easier for producers to manage their affairs even in cases of force majeure related to agricultural subsidies.
Producers must meet the eligibility conditions to be able to use the damage mitigation benefit.
