Homes Take Longer to Sell - Survey

The time to sell both new and resale homes grew in the first six months of 2023 compared to the same period a year earlier, real estate broker Otthon Centrum said on Wednesday, news agency MTI writes.

Homes in prefab Socialist era projects sold the fastest: taking 79 days from the time of listing, around 21 days more than a year earlier. Brick homes took 93 days to sell, compared to 91 days a year before. The time to sell detached family homes grew by two weeks to 150 days.

Homes in prefab projects took 72 days to sell on the Buda side of the capital compared to 90 days in the agglomeration areas and smaller towns.

Resale detached family homes could be sold in Buda in 114 days on average, in Pest county and the outer districts of Budapest in 140 days, and in smaller settlements in 160 days.

In county seats brick homes could be sold in 84 days, in the inner districts of Budapest in 90 days, and ins smaller cities in 110 days.
