Hungary was the fourth-largest investor in Croatia last year for the seventh year in a row, Milan Radacsi from the Hungarian embassy in Zagreb announced today, citing data from the Croatian central bank. Hungary followed Austria, the Netherlands and Germany.

Since 1993, Hungarian investors have brought €2.27 bln to Croatia, mostly to the financial, food and trade sectors, he said. Croatian investments in Hungary added up to just €22 mln during this period, he added.

Hungary is Croatia's sixth-biggest partner in terms of bilateral trade. Data from January-October show Hungarian exports to Croatia rose 7% to €926 mln, and imports jumped 61% to €301 mln during the same period, lifted by fuel and energy deliveries, Radacsi added.
