Farmers Apply to Plant 50,000 Hectares of New Forest

Hungarian farmers have already applied to plant more than 50,000 hectares of new forest since the announcement of the National Afforestation Program, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said last week, according to profitline.hu.

In the Settlement Afforestation Program, 36,000 rowan trees have already been planted in 1,350 settlements, Nagy said in Vas County.

He added that, this year, an additional 10,000 trees would be planted in Hungarian settlements, including 78 in Vas County.
