Lufthansa strike freezes more flights today

German airlines Lufthansa cancelled seven of its Budapest flights today as pilots joined the strike which began on Wednesday, Tamás Lichtenberger, Lufthansa’s airport chief in Budapest, told Hungarian news agency MTI early morning.

According to the chief, the airline is looking into travel alternatives for approximately 800 passengers who had booked flights for today.

Lichtenberger added that with the exception of its morning and afternoon Munich flights, all other Budapest flights have been cancelled.

The Vereinigung Cockpit union has expressed its intention to uphold the strike into Saturday as well.
