A direct LOT flight from Budapest to Seoul had to make an emergency landing in Kazakhstan due to the uncontrollable behavior of an intoxicated passenger.

According to rtl.hu, the passenger in question was a Korean woman who started kicking and screaming on the plane, which took off on Tuesday afternoon.

The flight attendants and her family tried to calm her down for three hours, to no avail, and therefore, the pilots decided to land the plane in Kazakhstan.

The police at Astana airport immediately arrested the woman, who later claimed not to remember what had happened.  Due to the incident, the plane landed three hours late at Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

The report notes that the woman who caused the trouble on the plane could face up to three years in prison or a hefty fine.
