2010 budget cuts public transport spending by HUF 40bln to HUF 220bln

The 2010 budget, approved by Parliament late Monday, cuts spending on public transportation by HUF 40 billion from 2009 to HUF 220 billion, the communications department of the transport ministry said when asked by MTI on Tuesday.  

The budget targets HUF 153.9 billion for the operation of the railway and other inter-urban passenger services in the transport ministry's chapter. In the Finance Ministry chapter, between HUF 66 billion and HUF 70 billion is allocated for ticket price subsidies. About 35% of the ticket price subsidies are for the railway and one-third is for local public transport. (MTI-Econews)

AKK cuts offer at T-bill auction because of scattered yields, not demand
