The ratio of Hungarians who have firm plans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 or have already received their first jab stands at 64%, state news wire MTI reports, citing a weekly survey by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The rate for the week ended May 9 is up from just 15% when KSH started conducting the surveys in the first week of December.

The latest survey shows 15% of Hungarians say they "may" get inoculated, while another 17% say they won't get a jab.

Close to 89% of Hungarians between 65 and 74 say they plan to be vaccinated or have already received their first jab.
