Gov't calls new HUF 3 bln tender for e-car subsidies

The government has called a new HUF 3 bln tender for subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles from Monday, Attila Steiner, state secretary for energy and climate policy of the Innovation and Technology Ministry said on Monday.
Private individuals resident in Hungary can apply for subsidies for one EV and civil organizations and higher education institutions based in the country can request subsidies for five vehicles. The subsidies are capped at HUF 1.5 million or HUF 2.5 mln depending on the vehicles' size and price.
Last year, the government awarded close to HUF 5.9 billion in subsidies for the purchase of EVs.
