Unemployment rate at 3.7% in November

In November 2021, the number of unemployed was 179,000 and the unemployment rate stood at 3.7%, according to data by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

According to the administrative data of the National Employment Service, the number of registered jobseekers decreased by 18.3% year-on-year to 242,000 by the end of November 2021.

September-November unemployment rate at 3.6%

The number of unemployed persons aged 15–74 decreased by 25,000 and their unemployment rate fell by 0.6 percentage points in September-November 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year. Among men, the number of unemployed persons was 87,000 and the unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 percentage points to 3.4%. Among women, the number of unemployed was 90,000 and the unemployment rate was 3.9%.

The number of unemployed 15–24-year-olds slightly decreased to 37,000, while their unemployment rate was unchanged at 11.9%. One-fifth of all unemployed were young people. The unemployment rate for 25–54-year-olds fell by 0.6 percentage points to 3.2% and for 55–74-year-olds by 0.5 percentage points to 2.6%.

The average time spent looking for a job was 9 months and 35% of the unemployed had been looking for a job for at least a year.
