Romanian jobless rate edges up in July

Romania's unemployment rate inched up to 5.1% in July, from a revised 5% in the previous month, National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Wednesday, citing provisional data.

On an annual comparison basis, jobless rate was 0.4 percentage points lower in July 2021 the Bucharest-based agency said in a statement.

There were 420,000 unemployed people in Romania in July, down from 408,000 in June. The jobless rate among women was 4.7% versus 5.4% among men. The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.1%.
