Road Accidents With Injuries up Last Year

There were 14,732 road traffic accidents with personal injuries in Hungary in 2022, according to a quarterly report from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

This represents a 3.5% increase compared to 2021, which was affected by the epidemic and was characterized by more moderate vehicle traffic due to the restrictions, but it was 11% less than the pre-pandemic year of 2019.

According to the KSH data, the number of accidents decreased in six counties compared to a year earlier, most notably in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (by 10%).

The other counties and the capital were characterized by growth, with the most significant increase in the number of accidents in Zala County (15%).
