Magyar Posta raises postal rates

State-owned Magyar Posta on Thursday said it will raise its rates for domestic letters from July 1, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Magyar Posta said the increases are under the rate of inflation and that its tariffs are still among the lowest in the region.

From July 1, the rate for a priority letter up to 50 g will rise from HUF 200 to HUF 225. The rate for non-priority letters up to 50 g will increase from HUF 145 to HUF 160.

Priority rates will rise from HUF 570 to HUF 640 for letters up to 500 g, and from HUF 1,650 to HUF 1,855 for letters up to 2,000 g.

Non-priority rates will increase from HUF 430 to HUF 475 for letters up to 500 g, and from HUF 1,310 to HUF 1,445 for letters up to 2,000 g.

The fee for registered mail will rise from HUF 485 to HUF 500.
