Hungary Population Reaches 9,678,000
Hungary's population stood at an estimated 9,678,000 at the end of 2022, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday shows, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The natural decrease in the population was 47,300 for the year, the difference between 88,400 live births and 135,700 deaths.
The number of live births fell 5% and the fertility rate slipped to 1.52 from 1.59. The number of deaths dropped 12.8%.
