Bosnia's real avg net monthly salary down on month, jobless rate falls in Apr

The average net monthly salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) fell by 3.2% in real terms, to BAM 1,083 (EUR 554) in April on a monthly comparison basis, the Agency for Statistics (BHAS) said on Monday.

In April, in nominal terms, the average net monthly wage rose by 9.9% year-on-year, but fell 0.9% month-on-month.

The average gross monthly salary was BAM 1,658 (EUR 848) in April, 8.6% higher on the year in nominal terms.

In a separate report the Sarajevo-based agency said the number of registered unemployed people in Bosnia fell by 9% year-on-year in April to 365,878.

On a monthly comparison basis, the number of registered unemployed people declined by 1.6%.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of about 3.5 million, according to the latest census held in 2013.
