Roughly 835,000 applications were received for family tax refunds last year, 81% of which were completed online and only 132,000 were paper-based documents, according to Parliamentary State Secretary András Tállai of the Ministry of Finance, writes profitline.hu.

Personal, paper-based tax administration has been replaced by digital, Tállai said, adding that this did not change the fact that many people still left it to the last week to fill in the declaration required for the family tax refund in February.

In the last five days, between December 27 and 31, about 140,000 statements were received.
