648 new COVID cases registered over last 3 days

Some 648 new coronavirus cases were registered in Hungary in the last three days, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 813,688, according to data by koronavirus.gov.hu.

Nine patients died, raising the total coronavirus death toll to 30,070.

The number of recovered patients rose to 778,236, while the number of active cases stands at 5,382.

Some 194 infected people are currently hospitalized, and 23 of them require ventilation.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 5,817,481, of whom 5,519,838 have already received their second vaccination. About 404,000 people have already received their third vaccination.

The delta virus mutant is spreading in several European countries and is already present in Hungary, and unvaccinated people are at greatest risk, the website notes.
