A May 2021 survey from Századvég Economic Research measured the improvement of the household and corporate economic index, in line with the increasingly favorable epidemic data and the gradual lifting of restrictive measures, according to origo.hu.

The value of the index, interpreted on a scale between –100 and +100, increased from -10.1 points to -6.9 points in the case of the population, while in the case of enterprises, the indicator rose from -12.1 to -6.9 points. The economic sentiment improved in both groups mainly due to the lifting of restrictions and the improving epidemic situation.

In the coming months, provided that restrictions continue to be relaxed and that the viral situation does not deteriorate, the economic well-being of companies and the general public may continue to improve.
