Initiatives

Prolonged dry weather has resulted in a fire ban across the country until revoked, according to the National Directorate General for Disaster Management (OKF), writes profitline.hu.

In a statement, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (NÉBIH) called for everyone to be more careful, as 99% of forest fires in Hungary are caused by human error.

According to the Disaster Management communication, it is forbidden to light fires in forests, afforestation, groups of trees, rows of trees along the road and within a radius of 200 meters, even at designated fire sites.
