German power company RWE said it has acquired the Polish solar developer alpha Solar, granting it ownership of a 3,000 MW (megawatt) pipeline of projects.

Alpha Solar is headquartered in Warsaw and supported by three local offices in Inowrocław, Łódź, and Rzeszów and has expertise across the entire development process from land acquisition to construction readiness, RWE said.

As part of RWE, it will work on delivering the existing pipeline of solar projects as well as developing new projects.

The majority of the solar sites are of utility-scale in various stages of development, ranging from early phase identified opportunities to ready-to-build projects.

The 3-GW portfolio is set to add to the German developer's existing global development pipeline of 10 GW in solar projects.
