Hungary has a new opportunity to launch residential energy efficiency tenders based on EU funds, writes profitline.hu.

By the end of the year, each member state must supplement its national recovery plan with a new chapter, REPowerEU, on how it would reduce dependence on Russian energy carriers from recovery sources.

The Hungarian government has already indicated that it would call on the support and loan part of the Recovery Fund, to the tune of about HUF 5.9 trillion.

According to the Association of Hungarian Conservationists, a significant portion of this EU money should be spent on a comprehensive residential energy efficiency program in the form of a multi-year, complex energy home renovation tender package that reaches low-and average-income earners and encourages deep renovation.
