Farmgate Prices Climb 53% in August

Farmgate prices in Hungary rose 52.9% year-on-year in August, accelerating from a 50.7% increase in the previous month, state news wire MTI reports, citing data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.

Crop prices climbed 52.5%, as grain prices jumped 76.6% and industrial crop prices rose 40.1%. Vegetable prices increased 44%, while fruit prices edged down 1.7%.

The price of livestock and animal products increased 53.9%, as prices for live animals climbed 55.1% and animal products prices grew 51.7%.
