Hungary Registers 13,765 New COVID Cases, 73 Deaths in a Week

The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Hungary has risen by 13,765, while 73 deaths from COVID-19 have been registered over the past week, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The number of active infections has reached 35,039.

The number of COVID-19 deaths stands at 47,576.

There are 1,752 coronavirus patients in hospital, including 32 on ventilators.

A total of 2,107,907 COVID19 cases have been registered in Hungary since the start of the pandemic.

So far, 6,418,352 people have been inoculated against the coronavirus. They include 6,204,725 who have already had their second jab of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 3,897,614 have had a booster jab.

The country's population is a little under 9.7 million.
