Industrial tire seller Zsolaka has launched a HUF 150 million-160 mln project to develop a system for gauging solid tire wear, managing director Zsolt Horváth told MTI.

The system, which consists of a piece of hardware, four sensors and software, can extend tire life 5-8% when installed on forklifts, Horváth said. The system is still in the testing phase, but Zsolaka is already in talks with German and American forklift manufacturers about building it into their products, he added.

Zsolaka won HUF 80 million in European Union and government grant money for the project.

The company had net revenue of HUF 386 mln last year, public records show.
