Investors Account for Over 40% of Home Purchases in Capital

Investors accounted for more than 40% of home purchases in the capital nearly every month of last year, listed real estate broker Duna House said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The rate of home purchases by investors in Budapest rose as far as 54%-55% at one point during the year.

The average property investor spent close to HUF 53 million on a 66 sqm home in the capital.

Outside of the capital, property investors accounted for one-quarter to one-third of home purchases.
