Home sales in Hungary rose 69% year-on-year to 14,198 in May, news wire MTI reports, citing an estimate by listed real estate broker Duna House.

Home sales in January-May increased 42% year-on-year to 69,093.

Duna House said second-quarter home sales were unlikely to exceed those in the first quarter but could reach 38,000-40,000.

Duna House estimated mortgage outlays came to HUF 102 billion-107 bln in May, up from HUF 92 bln-93 bln in April.

The share of mortgages linked to subsidized home renovations accounted for close to 10% of the total, Duna House added.
