About 25,000 new apartments are being built in Budapest, according to a March housing market survey from Otthon Centrum.

Survey results said the average price per square meter of newly built apartments offered in Budapest in the first quarter of this year is HUF 1.655 million, a 3.1% higher price compared to the values of the previous quarter, OC announced.

It pointed out that, in annual terms, the average cost per square meter increased by only 5.1% due to the significant number of new apartments on the market and the fact that most developers tried to avoid or minimize price increases.
