Fewer Construction Companies in July

In July, there were 100 fewer construction enterprises than in the previous month, according to data from company information provider Opten, writes uzletem.hu.
In June 2023, statistics from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) registered a 3.8% decrease in construction industry production compared to the same period of the previous year, while producer prices showed a significant increase of 17.2%.
The sector players consider the nearly HUF 3 trillion drop in government orders and the 25% drop in housing construction to be of particular concern.
According to the industry, in response to the current challenges, construction companies should consider basic cost optimization measures, including downsizing.
