Construction output volume up 3.3% y.o.y. in January

The volume of construction output in January 2022 surpassed the previous year’s level by 3.3% according to raw data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Compared to January 2021, the volume of output in the construction of buildings decreased by 0.4%, in civil engineering it grew by 12.9%.

Output in the divisions of construction shrunk by 0.7% in the construction of buildings, and grew by 10.4% in civil engineering. Specialized construction activities increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year.

The volume of new contracts concluded increased by 11.7%, within it the volume of new contracts for the construction of buildings was 49.7% higher and the volume regarding civil engineering decreased by 39.8% in relation to the January 2021 base.

The volume of the end-of-January stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 6.3% above the end-of-January-2021 level.

The volume of contracts was down by 5.1% for the construction of buildings and up by 15.3% for civil engineering, year-on-year.
