Construction output volume up 27.8% y.o.y. in June

The volume of construction output in June 2021, based on raw data, surpassed the previous year’s level by 27.8%, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the output of both main groups of construction increased: the construction of buildings rose by 25%, that of civil engineering by 32.1%.

Output volume grew in all three divisions of construction: by 15% in the construction of buildings, by 39% in civil engineering, by 29.4% in specialized construction activities.

The volume of new contracts concluded rose by 65.9%, within it the volume of new contracts for the construction of buildings went up by 72.4%, the volume regarding civil engineering works rose by 56.1% in relation to the June 2020 base.

The volume of the June end–of–month stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 21.2% above the end of June 2020 level. The volume of contracts increased by 32% for the construction of buildings and by 14.3% for civil engineering works compared to the previous year.

In the first six months of 2021, construction output volume rose by 7.3% compared to January-June 2020.

Construction producer prices on the rise

In the second quarter of 2021, within the divisions of construction, prices increased by 10% in the construction of buildings, by 7.2% in civil engineering and by 10.2% in the greatest weight-carrying specialized construction activities compared to Q2 2020.

Construction prices were 3.7% higher than in the previous quarter.
