Poland Employment Stalls, Wages up in August

The annual corporate employment in Poland was unchanged at 6.502 million people in August, the Warsaw-based Central Statistical Agency (GUS) said on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, employment fell by 0.2%. There were around 783,700 people without jobs across the nation at the end of August, down by 1,300 from a month earlier, according to the government.

Separate data by GUS showed that average gross wages in the enterprise sector grew 11.9% annually to PLN 7,368.97 (EUR 1,590) in August.

The figures are for companies with more than nine employees.
