Number of Registered Jobseekers Falls 3% in a Year

The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary reached 236,051 in March, down 3pc from the same month a year earlier, state news wire MTI reports ,citing data from the National Employment Service (NFSZ).

The number was little changed from February.

The data show 3,383 Hungarians registered as jobseekers for the first time during the month. The total number of new jobseeker registrations, including repeat registrations, reached 34,783.

Around 43% of registered jobseekers received no benefits in March.

About 34% of them had been seeking work for longer than a year.

Jobseekers were registered for 475 days on average.
