Although we are already halfway through the summer vacation, there are still more than 2,500 teaching positions open for applications on the public sector job portal, according to business daily Világgazdaság.

There is practically no subject that is not looking for teachers on the public sector job portal, Közigállás.

By searching for the word teacher, the website found 2,694 results across 270 pages.

The vacant positions roughly follow the geographical distribution of the domestic population, with approximately one-fifth or one-sixth of the open positions in Budapest.

With the announcement of the university admission point limits last week, it was also revealed that extremely few first-year student teachers would begin their studies in September.
