Carsharing company SHARE NOW is expanding its fleet this summer with 60 Fiat 500 Hybrids and 35 MINI Convertibles which customers can order directly to their homes, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

As a result of the expansion, the company is set to have a total of 360 cars in Budapest, becoming the second-largest carsharing service in Budapest.

Despite the COVID-related lockdown restrictions, SHARE NOW doubled its revenue in 2020 compared to the previous year.  Even with demand decreasing for carsharing for multiple months due to restrictions, the company continued with the implementation of its long-term growth plan in Hungary.

”Despite the epidemic, the year 2020 confirmed, that both the public and companies have a real need for carsharing. There are more and more conscious carsharing users who combine carsharing with other transportation methods - primarily with public transport - on a daily basis; either using it for a few minutes to drive around town or for several day-long trips,” said Bence Buday, the managing director of SHARE NOW. "Since April 2021, SHARE NOW has been experiencing an unprecedented increase in demand from the residential and corporate users as well, which indicates that carsharing will be a long-lasting and key component of the transportation of Budapest. Our goal is - with the support of the Capital - to get closer to a greener, more sustainable cityscape, where car transportation is accessible for everyone when needed, without thousands of unused cars parked on the streets.”

As a result of continuous development, "Pre-Booking" has become available for one-to-five-day long rentals, the company says. Initially, as part of an introductory period, customers with a SHARE NOW Pass subscription can order the car of their choice to their homes in the SHARE NOW zone. Users can book the selected car category through the application, up until 72 hours before the start of their rental.

”We have received feedback from our customers, that they want to make the use of SHARE NOW cars more plannable, to be able to guarantee, the desired car will be available nearby for a family excursion or a business trip. Nowadays, anything can be ordered to our homes online, but ordering cars have not been possible yet. However, from now on, users can conveniently do it from the SHARE NOW application,” added Buday.
