In the next 10-15 years, in line with the EU's goals, the railway will be the focus of domestic transport development, State Secretary for Transport Policy László Mosóczi of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) said, according to profitline.hu.

Speaking at the Sopron railway station (210 km northwest of Budapest), Mosóczi emphasized that the railway has not only a past but also a present and a future.

While in the middle of the 19th century, the railway was an alternative to the carriage, today it is an environmentally friendly choice because the mode of transport is responsible for only 25% of emissions.
