Czech retail sales up in March

The Czech retail sales accelerated by a working-day 5.0% year-on-year in March, after a 2.4% fall in February, data from the Czech Statistical Office (CZS) showed on Thursday.

On an unadjusted basis, retail sales gained 6.6% annually in March. On year, retail tread increased the most for non-food products by 14.3%, while sales for food, beverages & tobacco added 0.4%.

On the other hand, automotive fuel sales eased by 2.2%. On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail trade retreated 1.6%, following an upwardly revised 3.1% gain in February.
